try uninstalling and installing again
i can play battlefield 3 skyrim and all other games fine but this game doesnt even want to launch?!
i try to start it and then it asks me to turn off all applications, then i click ok, then my screen goes black and then i get an error with the game... I'll try to uninstall and install it again to see if that will fix my problem...
When it does run i get to the beggining fmv or just on the start game screen and it just comes up program not responding, ive just been thorugh and tried to run on diffrent settings through compatability and still not working. Really wanted to play this again aswell :(
Windows 7 64Bit
GeForce GTX 660
16 GB Ram
And I have tried moving the game to my C: drive. This did not work for me.
Install Blood Omen 2 onto a C: Drive Folder
Go to the Blood Omen 2 Folder --> SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Blood Omen 2 Legacy of Kain
There will be a file called bo2 along with a folder called Data and binkw32.
Right click on bo2 and go down to properties.
Click on Compatibility up near the top left.
Under Compatibility mode check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
And then click the drop down and select Windows 7.
Under settings, check the box for "Run in 256 colors"
If it still does not work, try setting it to Windows XP Compatibility.
If a settings.cfg file appears in the folder with your game you should be able to start the game up through steam now.
And whatever you do, if you do get it working, do not put your configuration about 1280, it will immediate crash if you do.
Try the following:
Launch the game, atl-tab out of it, go to task manager, right click on BO2.exe, select affinity, uncheck all and check only CPU 0.
Found that elsewhere in thise forums, did not completly stop the freezes but i had much less.
I just would like to play this game again, as it has been a while. Not that I mind loosing $7 if I can't play it, but it would be awesome if I could.
The other issue I have been having with this game is that bo2.exe is continually being scanned by my virus software and saying it has a potential risk. I've had to add a scan exclusion against it so that it does not continue to try to quarantine the file.
