Blood Omen 2: Legacy of Kain

Blood Omen 2: Legacy of Kain

Main Menu runs very slow, can't do anything
Hy. I've managed to get the game running, by putting it into another folger and using the 8-BIt and win 98 mode. I have no problem watching the intro, but once the main menu shows up everything runs slow. Very slow. The writing moves in slow motion. By opening the Task-Manager I can skip to the point when I can choose between New Game and all that. But by clicking on that, nothing really happens.
So, what could I do?

I was having the same problem, then I set compatability to XP (SP3) & it fixed it.

Just in case anybody is still having trouble with this, the solution is incredibly easy. Use dgVoodoo2_53. Just copy it over to your game install, copy the contents of the MS folder there too and check the option for the watermark, at least the first time to know dgVoodoo is actually running. That is all it takes, I don't know what that thing does but it is like magic, It solved all my problems with Soul Reaver 2 (intro, lock-on,etc) and Blood Omen 2 (running super slow). Both work perfect now for me using Windows 10.

So, what if I used this "incredibly easy" solution and it didn't work?

I have an inkling of how it works, and in theory it should, but you know... it doesn't. There is a slight change in the load-up following the patch- suggesting graphics settings have shifted, etc.- but the game still absolutely crashes on startup- every time.

Feeling a lot like it's not "magic". Feeling a lot like describing it that way doesn't help much when it fails to work.
