You are the first person I've found who has reported the same issue as me. I've been looking since I posted this and still have found no way to fix it. It's super frustrating.
If you find a solution, please do share.
c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\blood omen 2 legacy of kain
once you are there right click on BO2.EXE and go to properties and the compatabilty tab then select Win98. After you do that open a CMD window from start> RUN and type CMD. Once you have the DOS window open navigate to the directory where BO2.EXE is located using CD command in DOS. typically a
CD c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\blood omen 2 legacy of kain
If that does not work you might have to do a CD\ to get to the root and use dir and CD to step your way up to that correct directory. If the BO2.EXE is not where I say it is do to a custom steam setup a search from RUN or in Windows explorre should show you the full path. Once you are there you need to do the following in the DOS prompt
BO2.EXE -setup
If you did it right it will popup a window that will allow you to select a resolution.
note the screen will go black for about 5 to 10 seconds before the pop up
I have Width 1024 height 768 bit depeth 32 bit (60 Hz) just use the drop down what you think works best for you. Note the FMV is a little choppy (must be PAL) but the video graphics work pretty smooth for me. The screen will have funny colors till you set the resolution settings and hit ok.
You can actually copy and paste those commands I put in my post on to your CMD DOS window. Note Ctrl V does not work on the CMD DOS window, What you will need to do is right click with your mouse on to the CMD DOS window then select paste. I'm a big fan of copy and paste because it makes things easier.
Enjoy, happy gaming.
