Is it possible to change the difficulty mid run?

Long story short, my friend and I went with the hard difficulty and breezed through the game no problem. Did a bunch of side quests. Picked up most of the cobalt crawlers etc. but now that we are at the fight against Detta and have tried it dozens and dozens of times. We just get stuck in a loop of healingand can't even get an attack off once he hits his 2nd or 3rd phase because his attacks regen so fast and we inevitably die. At this point we just want to finish the game without restarting and want to know if there is a way to change it via mods or any other route that we havent found.

Doesn't seem like it. I looked around and found out there's a cheat menu. Maybe there's some solution there, or just watch a longplay - I've had to do that with some broken games.
