Demo patch notes
We've just uploaded a new version of the demo, check out the list of changes below:

NEW / UPDATED FEATURES:
  • New relic: the Purse of Prosperity, you can get the schematic from the pirate vendor
  • A new pre-rendered cinematic teases the story's main mystery
  • Added boss stages -- the King's Guard each have a secondary boss phase which brings new, more powerful spells for them!
  • Added more weight to enemy movements, replaced several animations and added sfx and vfx to enhance this
  • Added FOV option
  • Summoner enemies have improved AI, they can now rush in and strike you down with an AOE attack
  • Added invert Y option
  • Redesigned and added the shader compilation screen back into the game, should alleviate the remaining stutters
  • Added tutorial for fast reload

BALANCE CHANGES:
  • Poison will now expire after a while
  • Corrupted Decoy has less health (i.e. enemies kill it faster). Its own automatic expiration still happens at the same speed.
  • Fire explosions deal more damage (instead of 1.5x normal damage, it now deals 2x)
  • Reduced shotgun spread for more accuracy / usability
  • Reduced shotgun second bullet bonus damage, but increased base damage
  • Ultimate abilities are now recharged by successful shots instead of time and will not be auto-recharged at the end of a battle
  • Increased the health of both King's Guard bosses
  • Reduced the aim assist amount

BUGFIXES:
  • Fixed the "Fatal error!" crash
  • Fixed the bug where the game started in a different resolution than the main screen, only showing a quarter of the full game
  • Fixed an exploit where you could cause enemies to deal 0% damage
  • Fixed a bug where Shock Bullet did not remain available after use with Overload
  • Fixed several cases where stunning an enemy did not always interrupt their current action
  • Fixed enemies spawning in walls in the temple cave arena
  • Fixed a bug where enemies were not following you down into the mines in the mine arena
  • After a melee attack, a reload is now immediately initiated if ammo is at zero
  • Causing an animation glitch by spamming the melee key is no longer possible
  • Fixed a bug where Amulet of accuracy did not work with a shotgun as some bullets would definitely miss -- this is now handled per shot, not per bullet!
  • Reckless recovery now triggers on all other kills, not just bullet kills
  • Fixed missing water material in the initial area
  • Restricted regular in-game dialogue after Death's initial convo to prevent overlap between Soulslinger's voice lines
  • Fixed a graphical glitch with the gate travel VFX
  • Added a black, fullscreen background behind cut-scene videos so you can't see "behind" videos on certain resolutions
  • Various minor UI tweaks and fixes

Tried the demo, you have a solid foundation there i think, may i suggest to add like a weapon tree instead of the basic upgrade we have here, like you have the basic revolver with his upgrade, then if you want you can upgrade it to be a high powered version (less ammo in magazine,more damage, better accuracy,slower rate of fire ) or a chain pistol ( more ammo in magazine,less damage,lesser accuracy, faster rate of fire).

Anyway its a good game you got there, definitely looking for the release.

Awesome demo guys, really loved it! I'm curious about Death's voice actor cause he sounded quite familiar, is it Matthew Mercer?

A new demo has been released today!

This one's a massive map and AI fix!

  • Widened most maps and cleaned up collisions so the player and enemies don't get stuck
  • Completely revamped the AI of ranged enemies (i.e. archer, fire thrower), they should behave in a much more logical way and pose more of a threat
  • Changed the AI of the basic Swarmer enemy, instead of their unfair dash attack, they will now use a much more telegraphed teleportation to quickly catch up to you
  • Fixed a bug where using abilities in quick succession prevented some abilities from activating while still wasted their cooldown
  • Fixed various jumping-related bugs which should result in enemies performing way less unnecessary jumps
  • Fixed a bug where it was possible to fall down twice in one go
  • Various map fixes and improvements

Not every game needs multiplayer. Also take them tiddies off your profile and get out of the basement lol.

With the help of the dash, you can get into the textures at the level with the cave, also, after several levels, the character periodically stops reloading automatically. I did not take some expensive improvements in the store, as I could not collect the right amount of coins despite a large number of attempts, gold disappears very quickly. Personally, I was bored listening to long dialogues and screensavers, especially when I first met a pirate, but I think that's just my problem. There are problems and they will be solved, I am sure. In general, I liked the demo, I added the game to the wishlist and am waiting for new news on the game.

We are putting a large emphasis on telling a story that has a LOT of surprises in store, and these longer dialogues are hinting the seeds for what's to come! However, if you hold down the jump key (space by default), you can just skip these dialogues and focus on the gameplay instead.

This feature appears whenever you interrupt the weapon reloading animation with one of the abilities (press 2 or 3). This is not difficult to repeat and it happens with any weapon and any ability (in the video I had a shotgun and lightning strike). Also, an error was found in the video, due to which one of the bosses got stuck in the textures. In the next game without recording, I also got to the bosses, and this bug was repeated, only with another enemy. He was stuck on the same island, but in a completely different place (the rock to the right of the bridge), and when trying to bait him, he walked towards the entrance portal for some reason he went to the entrance portal, instead of going in my direction. In the video in the background, my friend is playing dota, forgive him for that=)

The invert Y option turns off for me every time i load into haven or limbo.

The purse's price seems to be a bit high if its meant to be obtainable in the demo. I generally pick up everything and by the time I get to the boss, I have around 80 bucks.

Beyond that, there's some clipping issues in areas with a ceiling that'll get ya stuck in the textures. The summoners feel a little over tuned. Being able to call reinforcements from off screen feels bad especially when you have multiples calling in un alive bombers. I'd introduce a cap to their spawns maybe?

Gunplay feels solid though, reminiscent of a faster old school fps like quake. Those reload animations are SOLID. The early game enemies reactions to the bullets give a nice feeling of being that quick draw western hero that can gun down 7 dudes with 6 bullets and I'm here for it.

The upgrade trees have potential, but some of them having the same perk twice (and that being a static number thing) feels bland. You'd get some more mileage introducing some sort of mechanic that subverts basic play elements like how the Gunslinger tree's reload bonus works.

Some UI things could be improved. Mostly like how long a pick up notification stays on screen. ATM it feels like its easy to miss even when there's nobody shooting at you.

This is a good demo and I hope to see the final game improve as you guys go along.
Oh btw? Does the progress carry over to the full release? I've been no lifing this for the last couple of hours now and I wanna keep my maxed out shotty.
