Ancient statuette Shipwreck Island

After my first play through I looked forward to a second play through now that I knew more about the game. This time I meant to find the ancient statuette so I could take it to the end of my journey and put it on its pedestal in the pyramid. I unearthed the statuette in Shipwreck Island and continued the game. When I got to the beginning of Chapter 7 and entered the pyramid there was no statuette in my inventory to place on the pedestal. I wonder if the only time you can carry forward the statuette is on the first play through. Am I missing something? Is there a different item to place on the pedestal atop the pyramid?

The statuette remained on the broken hydraplane, at the start of chapter 7.

That makes sense. But just what item goes atop the pyramid pedestal? I watched a youtube play through that led me to believe it was the ancient statuette found on Shipwreck Island.

I just checked out another Ch. 7 video and yes, it is the ancient statuette that is placed atop the pyramid pedestal. How it is done I'd love to know.

After the Shipwreck island chapter the statuette is automatically removed from your inventory and placed on one of the shells in hydroplane. At the beginning of the last chapter you should manually take the statuette from the shell before leaving the hydroplane.

But what if you missed collecting the statuette, finished the game anyway, and then want to re-play chapters in order to collect achievements? I re-played liIsle d'Echouees, got the statuette, but then how do I bring it up to the volcano? Do I have to re-play all of the other chapters in between?

Try restarting chapter 6 (the swamps) and see if the statue is in the hydrofloat, on the shelf next to the cashews. If it's there you can replay ch 6 & 7. If it isnt there then, yes, I think you need to go back to ch 2 and replay the whole game. Sorry.

Yah, thanx -- I was kinda afraid that would be the case, and inded it was -- no statuette on any of the shelves in the Hydraflot. Having a "chapter select" to let you go back and pick up things that you missed really is not effective at all, if you basically have to re-play most of the entire game anyway ....
