Is the demo totally different from the purchased game?
I am trying the demo version, I have a missing piece in the lighthouse regarding the girl - I have found the slide but the journal indicates there is something else - I have not found anything else - it's under 'portrait of a young woman' and is the first entry, the second entry is the slide of her.
Tried looking up an older guide but there is no 'book in the corner' of the library -neither is there any sledgehammer that is supposed to be near the downstairs bicycle.
So I'm wondering if the demo doesn't contain all the pieces? Seems odd when it says you can load in from your save if you buy it..............

The Demo is the same as the full release. There are only 4 slides in the Demo. The other 2 are found after the Demo ends. The sledgehammer was moved to be found after the Demo ends so as to assure only one Demo end point. The Journal is split into pieces in the new version and is readable.
The SaveGames in the Demo, DemoSlotn, can be renamed Slotn and be used, but, if you're interested in achievements, start the full game as a New Game.
thanks for your help - appreciate it - I have the guy's journal but it did not click off the thing about the girl even though he talked about her. The demo also stated my save was 20mins earlier which was a game I had already deleted - so yeah, full version I think.

Players should stop the game as close as possible to when the Autosave icon appears in the lower left of the screen so as to minimize replay time. Autosaves are tied to events rather than elapsed time. For example right after picking up an object or backing out of a read document the Autosave icon will appear. Hit ESC there if you want to exit/stop for a while and you'll only lose a few seconds when restarting. While stopped, the savegame, Slotn (n=0,1,2) can be copied and annotated so it can be used as a start point later, which might be useful for going back for single instance achievements, such as finding the treasure in Chapter 2. Achievements which span several chapters are different. If an object is picked up in Chapter 2 and used in Chapter 8, it must have remained in inventory continuously the whole time, (stops/continues are OK.) This is the same achievement philosophy used for Syberia 3 and SyberiaTWB.

Microids says that Chapter savegames will be available after a game is completed. I'm not sure how they are going to configure the inventory for their Chapter restarts.

Anyway, there are several ways to play this game/story. It's kind of a game around a game.

So play, cope and enjoy!
I've never been disappointed in any Microid titles and I have them all except for this new one. Watching the trailer fuels the motivation to launch another outstanding story line, a special talent the development team has always had.

New users may not recognize the content of the demo but I certainly do. The history of Bens' development team carries his legacy well and made them who they are today.
