Some tips for new players!
So after playing Sir, You are Being Hunted for hours, I have some tips I think may be helpful to players just starting off.

Sir is definitely based around stealth but also your ability to solve situational problems.

1. Avoid combat if you can. Empty bottles really help with distracting and grabbing fragments. Throw a couple bottles directly away from the fragment, immediately run in and grab your prize.

2. Iron sights. If you are unfortunately caught in a meadow, cannot hide, and combat is your only option, use iron sights. The pistol can be infinitely more effective when using iron sights.

3. Mind your distance when using weapons. The pistol can be used at medium range, but too far away and you wont hit your target at all. While the shotgun can hit targets from a good range away; don't do it. The shotgun is really best when your closest to an enemy. If a hunter has a shotgun, wait for him to unload his two shots, get as close as comfortable and shoot him. One well placed shot with a shotgun is enough to kill an enemy. The rifle is fantastic at range; don't waste your shots though, make them count.

4. Don't forget your shortcuts. H (default) is to bandage. It can really save your life. Again, mind your distance to the enemy and be sure to crouch to avoid being shot.

5. Hounds can be a pain but can be dealt with one of three ways. You can definitely lose their tail (despite some other rumors), you can place one nicely aimed shot to their skull with a pistol, or you can time it right and axe them as soon as they jump on you (you will still be knocked down but will not take damage.

6. Don't discard! Unless you ABSOLUTELY have to discard something, just avoid it. Find a place close to the Standing Stones, that also has a decent amount of open slots, and just stash extra stuff there. All supplies in the world are limited. Once you use them, they are gone. Supplies from buildings do not reappear.

7. Use the take all button when collecting fragments. Trying to drag it into place can take time, and if you mess up can just reset itself. Using the "Take All" button will automatically place it in your inventory making it faster for you to escape. If you suspect the fragment to be large remember to allocate that many slots 4x4 (edited!).

I really hope this helps anyone who struggles with Sir. It is a great game and can be really enjoyable, and I hope these tips will help others!

Thanks!

PS. sorry for the wall of text xD

The largest fragment I've encountered is 4x4- is there a bigger one?

Another tip for newer players: the pistol is surprisingly effective when shot from the hip, just be mindful of the small clip.

Unfortunately I did not have the game open when I posted that haha. Thank you for clarifying!

what are iron sights ?

The sights are the things you aim with, on the top of the gun.

Another interesting tip to get rid of dogs.
Bear traps. Take note of where the dog is, place a bear trap directly between the two of you, and keep a steady course. The dog will be lured right into the bear trap, and they are a common item to find in villages, you can spare it. (Or if you're greedy enough, wait for the hunters to give up and kill the dog to reclaim the trap.

Also, to conserve bandages, try to wait until the fight is over to bandage up.
If there is only one or two enemies, you are at a good health level, and you know that you can
A) Finish the fight before they kill you.
B) Finish the fight before you bleed out.
C) Run away before either of the above.
Better to use only one instead of three.
