Take a trip around the coastline, staying pretty close to the waters edge and you should see one.
I'd advise against swimming with it though, or getting too near.
I haven't tried killing one yet and don't know if it's even possible.

Is this bog monster based on something? I've people talk about it as a piece of Brittish folklore or something. But I wouldn't know, since I'm Swedish.

Not that I know of.
I was born in the north of England near the moors which is kind of English swamp land.
The bogs themselves could be dangerous but I don't know of any creature folklore.
I could be wrong though.
There called bog monsters but I have only seen them around the coastline, not inland.

I thought of the Kraken too but that's more of a giant octopus that pulls down ships.
Plus I don't think they were ever around in the UK waters.

No, the Kraken was a legend about a giant octopus in the gulf of Mexico. But I was was told that the bog monster was a folklore from somwhere in U.K. I dod google it but all that showed up was a TMNT enemy so I doubt that the bog monster was based on that. But other than than, what is a bog? (Curious Swede who knows descent english wonders)

I'm no expert but I would say it's like a deep hole filled with mud that can sort of act like quicksand if you get stuck in it.

Oddly it reminds me of the short story "The Mive". A swampy land in england a man cuts through, only to find a giant beast chasing him.
