What is multiplayer? Is it co-op?
It's not really clear from the announcement ( http://steamcommunity.com/games/242880/announcements/detail/1129460943149934 ) whether the multi-player is co-op or it is people working against each other.

Is the multiplayer co-operative or no? How does the multi-player work exactly?

And ++rama++ in the comments says there is no save feature? Is that right?

It depends on the server settings. PvP is optional and up the the server's admins. Multiplayer is essentially the same as single player, except you cannot go to other islands. There are a few other changes such as extra loot and a couple missing NPCs. There is no save feature, but you can just think of it as a round based game, most servers don't require retrieving too many pieces. The player who retrieves the last piece is called the winner at the end.

Thanks. If there is no save, then this is a short game? What did you mean by round-based -- like it is similar to Counter-Strike?

Also can this be played with 3 people?

Yes, that's what I meant by round based, saving doesn't really matter since your stuff isn't persistent anyway. It can be shortish or long depending on how much the players are concentrating on completing the game. I've played games between maybe 30ish minutes to quite long, possibly an hour and a half or so. However, I don't have friends who play this so I'm playing with random people, often noobs who are often just focusing on looting and surviving, and I'm not very good myself.
Yes, this can be played with 3 people. I think the largest server I've seen was 8.

Edit: Oh and the server admins can change how many pieces are spawned and how many are needed to win, so game length can vary based on that as well as the players.

Thanks! I just bought it for myself and a couple buddies

Played a bit and seems interesting so far...

There's no such thing as "co-op" even if you have PVP turned off and somehow manage to start a joinable server under the archaic server settings the last person that puts the final piece in "wins" instead of everyone.

That affects nothing except the final message though.

Needs modding to give it that extra spice.

Ah, that's lame.
