Backpack Battles

Backpack Battles

Is this a clone of backpack hero?
Is that game so popular that its spawning clones now?
I mean sure whatever floats the devs' boat I guess. But was surprised to see this... its pretty niche.

Same publisher, IndieArk, for what it's worth.
Even if the gameplay was identical rather than just similar it wouldn't be quite a clone, seeing as this is an asynchronous online multiplayer game.
I think it's got a bit more depth and it's an auto battler rather than a dungeon crawler. But the gimmick and core inventory management very much so. This game wouldn't exist without backpack hero.

Yeah, but that's not who made it. If I were the backpack hero developers I wouldn't be too thrilled about the publisher picking up and pushing the competition.

That being the only thing in the game is most likely why I might not buy it. It would be cool if it was both. This online mixed with the old game part 2. Seems this game is lacking something else for me to want to buy it really. Just battling each other and nothing out of it but rank isnt really something that is gonna make people want to play for along time. They should have really mixed both games. Maybe they will add an adventure mode sometime down the line or something for us to progress through.
That's based af. I love it. Imagine being known as "the backpack game publisher"
Similar in that you can rearrange your backpack for fighting and tetris your items. Very different in how it operates. It is a very different game just with the one similarity. These battles play out automatically based on the items you have in your backpack. You don't get to select what to use and when, like you can in Backpack Hero. Still fun!
Let me add one more thing: It has a demo. Download it and try it out for yourself to see if you like it.
Lol, 'The Backpack games publisher' :D That's pretty cool. Though yeah, other than 'backpack' being in the title of both games and inventory management being a main feature, they're two very different games. The closest game I'd compare it to would be Super Auto Pets - same gimmick, different core mechanics. I'd go as far as to say that's the game a lot of people found this game through and would enjoy playing for the same reasons.
the word clone is not correct here, since they both do entirely different things.

one is a multiplayer auto battler and the other is a single player rogue-like/lite focused on exploring the dungeon and getting to the end

there is no competition as they both cater to a different audience

I played both of the games very intensely and I would disagree that one is a clone of another. I'm pretty sure that Backpack heroes didn't invent inventory management games as a genre. Furthermore, I think both backpack battles and backpack heroes scratch a different itch. Backpack battles is competitive, I play it to climb the ranks. Backpack heroes is pve and as others have mentioned a dungeon crawler.
I prefer so much backpack hero.
This one has no tutorial, no real game mode outside duels with players it seems...
And is dull and has weaker musics and graphics for me.
They're both inferior clones to the OG. Respect the Attache Case.

Speaking of Best Friends Play, does anyone remember a game where you've got like a scrolling row of items going by on one side of the screen and you've got to grab them and put them in the inventory grid to complete various battles and quests and challenges like cooking and stuff?

I thought Two/Super Best Friends played it at one time, but maybe it was Liam streaming it? I haven't been able to track it down, but this game and Backpack Hero reminded me of it.
If you want something with backpack management and more "adventure" then try god of weapons.
