Unlocking my last recipes
I have unlocked all my recipes except for the crossblades and the rainbow gooberts.
Is there a trick I could use to unlock them?
Or should I just get money items like piggy banks, jeweled chests and shovels and then refresh the shop until I get all the items I can get between fights.
Which class would be best to unlock the crossblades?

It does take some luck, I believe. 6 whetstones is a lot to ask for. So is 5 gooberts. Pretty much just gotta hard reroll round 1-4 for whetstones or 5-7 for gooberts. Even if you can't buy it right away, just reserve it if you see one come up. Alternatively you could try to get a present on mega clover ranger. If you sell most of your items/save up a lot of money sometimes present will just straight up give you rainbow goobert or something lol.

Cross Blades isn't too bad to unlock, but it's very unlikely if you don't get most of your whetstones in the first 5 or 6 battles. Piggy banks can be good to help reroll the shop a bit, but don't get a Customer Card until you've got your whetstones as they are common, so you don't want to lose any chance to get them.

Rainbow Gooberts are a little trickier. If your only goal is to unlock the recipe, as opposed to building a viable Rainbow Goobert build, you can get away with selling a lot of stuff and rerolling the shop a lot towards the end game. Make sure you have enough turns remaining and lives left to tank any turns you need to combine stuff, you need at least 2 rounds left in survival on the round when you assemble all 5 Gooberts together.

Try to find ways of playing in the early to mid game that allow you to use at least one ore two Gooberts in your strategy, but don't worry so much about using all 4 or 5 Gooberts all the time. If you don't use any of them, you're losing out on a lot of value for the gold you spent. If you try to use all of them, it can be hard to fit them all in around a viable build.

Similar to crossblades (but much easier), it's usually best to get the Hero Sword made as early as possible, but don't combine it into the Steel Goobert until you have a viable weapon to switch up to.

I don't think present is capable of giving you Rainbow Gooberts. My understanding on Present is that it gives you items that (if all sold) equates to what amount of gold you'd normally get from getting to that round (So for example if you got 20 gold for getting to round 17, present will give you items that sell for, in total, 20 gold) any leftover gold from previous rounds aren't eaten up by present.
I'd expect rainbow goobert to sell for 30+ gold (by rough math), and there's no round that gives you 30+ gold except a LOT of piggies.

I don't know whether or not piggies affect present though, but even if they do you'd need to get to very late rounds with not just present filling up your inventory, but a bunch of piggies too, and then present has to actually hit 1 of 4 gooberts (remember present can give you ANY item, not just items from your class :P) out of ALL items in the game.

Crossblades though is an item that is within reason to get from Present, sell value is around 20 gold, which a few rounds give you on its own.

Even if the present could give you Rainbow Gooberts, it wouldn't unlock the recipe.
It only unlocks, when you craft an item.

Though it's really not that hard to unlock Crossblades and Rainbow Gooberts, if you save a bit of gold to reroll during the rounds were you have the highest chance to get, what you need.
I got almost all of them first try

Rainbow Goobert on Ranger is pretty easy: https://ibb.co/album/ns1gvH

Got it in 7 out of 9 games so far.

Present can't unlock recipes, but it can provide components to help unlock recipes, such as dropping a Hero Longsword and/or a Falcon Blade. It's pretty unlikely it will drop more than one or two upgraded Gooberts though.
