They will either end up being under powered or overpowered.
Currently they are underpowered.
Will be interested in seeing how the game developer handles this (from a game design perspective) in the long run.
Besides them not being very powerful they're also extremely annoying trying to place properly alongside other items which has adjacency bonuses.
I love the idea. I also think they are very difficult to balance.
One suggestion is they can resume on the cycle. And then they are recurring, but can keep their mechanics like "X cards in front, or behind" etc.
I have never this kind of idea before in a game. So would love to see if they can keep it.
it is a shame though that potions got a class item and not the cards. the best they got was the snake.
