A PvE mode can be more than just playing offline - I imagine Backpack Battles could have a campaign similar to Backpack Hero, with branching exploration paths, shop breaks, bosses with unique mechanics, that sort of thing. Right now, it's purely a parallel competition.

tbh, even if they put bots in this game, you won't be able to realize it.
my guess is they probably will integrate with the mobile player to increase the player based count
although i don't think a single player mode is coming as BackPack hero is essentially made by same developer team, i think. but backpack hero has uglier graphics
Certainly, but my suspicion is that this isn’t what the OP is asking about. Many people avoid PvP games, and might not realize that this isn’t traditional pvp
