Crossblades - terrible?
It took a while to get a decent setup to even try to make a crossblade. I got the last gloves right as I got my 10th trophy win, with 2 losses so I continued. After I made the item and reorganized to optimize, I lost almost every match.

I was doing LESS damage after the combine and I can't say I ever lose to a crossblade build. Such an expensive item that's mostly useless after nerfs.

It still rocks in longer fights, but you'll need a lot of defensive items for it, which you usually don't want in the early-mid game with Ranger, so it's a bit awkward. You probably want to sit with the two individual pieces until you've accumulated enough defensive layers if you really want to use it. But it's rather difficult to get together, probably not worth the effort honestly

it might have gotten hit with a nerf a little too hard but pre nerf the thing was an absolute menace. If you completed it then you basically instantly won which was absurd. Now if you try to go for it you are best not forming it since the two weapons are stronger when they buff eachother. Then after you get the proper weapons/defense to back up a fully combined blade then you fuse and run with it. I see a lot of people just slapping it together as soon as they can which IMO is a bad idea.

Crossblade+bow facing eachother in hunter bag then stack defence/healing/luck pretty painful when bow double attacks for a ♥♥♥♥ load :D

You don`t want to combine x-blade itself, but if you find 4 early wetstones you`re pretty much set for 10 wins. Just make sure to balance your board rather that wasting all money on shop rerolls.

I've beaten pretty much every crossblades i've come across while using a wide variety of builds so I agree based on my anecdotal experience.

It's still good enough to carry my sorry ass to diamond. The trick is to build around it so unless you get early components I would not even consider going for it.

By build around it I mean using as many pigeons and speed gems as possible w/ the use of stamina potions or backpacked speed gems to sustain a fast dps *buildup*

It doesn't start strong *stare at rib saw blade* but it gets going downhill fast.

i think the strenght is you have a strong progressive build to start with as ranger with lots of good weapons on the way
a "naked" twinblade isnt that good compared to long+ falcon blade but if you can make use of the +10dmg and +60% speed slot (with 2 bows for example) it its way stronger

It goes very well with a big blue gem and holy books. However, blue gems also just took a nerf, so crossblades really aren't doing well. I used to get lots of wins forcing them all the time before these two nerfs, now forcing them is a loss unless you're lucky.

I've never even encountered someone pulling it off where it ramped out faster than just going steel goobert. In all honesty, I'd rather just have the Falcon Sword for its double attack and 2 gem slots.
