i get the very same lag.. brilliant in single player but when i joined co op today 4 the first time it was so bad i got attacked by tribe man and before i could act i was dead. being in alpha mode i believe this to be a code issue

from what iv gathered so far there a number of factors that have a large impact on lag, there are cases that a computer is able to play single player but opening multiplayer will push you over the top and a bottleneck will cause the lag. so far iv noticed its from 200-300 kbs net speed per client connected to host and going up dependsing on the amount of enterties and actions going on in game. you should both check the following things and see

upload/download speed
the ping between each other
processor and ram use in single player
processor and ram use in Co-Op

you generally notice the issues with ram/processor by animals and things being odd aka running backwards

also if your ram fill's and the game ends up using some v-ram that will cause a big impact most of the time

i think it mostly lags a lot in multiplayer because i found that it forces the host graphic settings on people if they like it or not. not counting screen res though.

thank goodness someone replied

I dont mind having thought it was my old GPU, I needed an upgrade, the gpu b4 sucked.

Its not my specs for sure as everything in my PC is top notch i7, gtx 970, 750 psu, 16gb ram, 1tb space

internet is on fiber 50/50mbps.

i found a forum here on steam AMD is not supprt but as you say gtx 970 is good. on my nividia control panel i added theforest.exe to the list the game runs 100x Better than it did before i should do a fps test and see if it does improve gameplay /fps

oh wow that thing makes a difference? Is it sorta like gamebooster then? I wonder which is better

Yeah dude, it's probably your connection. I have a pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ pc and my game runs flawlessly man. no idea why yours wouldnt work other than a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ net connection.

I'm using intel I5 1.80 ghz processor with some crappy integrated hd 4000 "gfx card", and 8 gb of ram. My ram is okay but the rest is horrible, yet the game runs at a solid 30 FPS at least consistently, perhaps SOMETIMES lagging but it's alpha. Your standards are either WAY too high, or you need to get your internet connection/modem looked at. Can you check your ping somehow while in game?

^ this must be your problem. I host myself and I run it on LOW so I have no issues ever.
