change host?

can i and my friend switch being host. if not at least make it so. and when the game comes out, will we still have to have one player as host instead of a dedicated server?

Your friend (the host) would have to copy the save file of the world you two are playing on and send it over to you. Then, you plug it into your own save folder and you can load it yourself, thus becoming the host. The nagging part is having to copy and hand it over to the other person every time you want to switch it up, since you'll make progress as you play.

I tried to do this but when I gave my friend the file, his character became mine, rather than continuing from his character.
