Yes, I thought that many times, but consider also that even if you don't chop any trees down, they'll still try to attack and kill you.
This suggestion has been bought up a zillion times, but people, get real. Trees take decades to grow and large ones a hundred. I think we all should know this by now. When one builds a huge base and deforests the forest, well, that's what ya get. Planting saplings and having them grow into trees over "X" amount of game-days is not only silly, but totally unrealistic. Just MHO.
