We could find other survivors, tame wolves...
We could find other survivors, tame wolves. Or even we could be family within the game and create a population.

I would love the option to tame wolves or foxes. It would also be very useful and cool to add horses.

Yes because we can go into a forest and in a few minutes or days tame a wolf...

Obviously it would have to have some processes to tame ...

You literally can't take a wild wolf. What, you think: "Oh wolf, here's some food. Oh let me pet you. Good dog". A wolf cannot be tamed. Though they would be interesting to have in terms of predators.

It's not two tree trunks. It's two logs, though if you can carry eight logs than wow. That's actually far more realistic than taming an animal born to kill, hunt and eat. Wolves=/=dogs

You would need a very young wolf for this. And you can't just grab a wolf and run away with it to tame it.

Though I actually love the idea of more wildlife especially those that could hunt us. It'd be good for the crowd that enjoy playing without cannibals for sure.

Mutant canibals are so realistic...

Chances are taming a wolf would a.) not make the wolf a devoted companion of yours - the wolf would still act like a wolf. Taminig a wolf would be more along the lines of you and the wolves realize you have mutual survival terms, so as long as you feed the wolves, the wolves may help you hunt food and be generally less agressive. Something that would have to be slowly worked on with each wolf - and perhaps harder to do per wolf. In terms a wolf that already has good relations with a survivor, they might help deal with cannibals that are ambushing the player. But that would be a huge maybe - something the wolf would have to evaulate in its AI. LIke, a single wolf won't jump into a pack of cannibals - the wolf wants to survive, it isn't a dog. But if you have a single cannibal fighting you, and you have it incapacitated, a wolf may come to finish it off. It would be a cool thing to see - but keep in mind they have a 3 man development team and chances are they have other priorities(such as fixing the vast pool of bugs that they have before adding any more content(which brings more bugs)). But one day at patch 1.00 we could probably see tamed animals. As to whoever said taming a wolf in a few days after crashing, this probably wouldn't be the case. Chances are it would be taming a wolf over like, 3 weeks, or 30 or so days of survival(in a game like this would be hard) and you would notice small things over time. Like, the first day, the wolf doesn't try to kill you. Thats a plus. The second day, the same wolf comes back, you feed it again, it growls, it paces around you, and it considers eating you. it comes back 3 days later, by itself(a good sign for a pack animal), and perhaps this time perhaps it brings you uncooked food(I'd imagine animals like cooked food more than uncooked). On the flip side, it could come back 3 days later with a pack of wolves, 4 or 5 more wolves, and they just attack and eat you. A pack of wolves would always be more dangerous, and taming a pack of wolves would in all probabilites be impossible(like seriously, whats to stop them from eating your food, then eating you).
