TOO MANY ENEMIES!!!
I know that this was already been said a lot of times before, but it's almost impossible to play with cannibals attacking me every 5 minutes! I love survival games, and this is one of my favorites, I love the exploring and the crafting/building of the forest, but the enemies are way too annoying, they don't even scare me (only when they show up suddenly from nowhere, and that weird creature with lots of arms and legs appears), and they are not hard to kill, but when I am building something and a group of 5 or more arrives to bother me, it pisses me off.

But I think that the fighting in this game should be less important than the survival and crafting part, because I just want to finish my base but it's so difficult when I am being killed every hour and taken to that same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cave. I hope the staff fix this soon, otherwise I will play only when the game releases alpha stage (what apparently will take a very long time) :angry_creep:

Once you learn to use block you'll never die again to cannibals. Cannibals are part of the survival and crafting should be a distant second. If you are 'annoyed' by cannibals and they dont scare you at all then that should tell the dev's they need to ramp things up a boatload...I sure hope they read this stuff.

The mutant spawns HAVE been whacky lately for me. I've been getting like steady waves of 5 every 40 seconds or so that last through the night, by morning I'll have piles of em. Its not so much scary as tedious :///

Well i suppose thats the breaks, if you want peace to build type in VEGETARIANMODE where the mutants come out only at night i find it more scary that way.

Can't say I fully agree. I'm at day 212 or something and I get 10-15 at a time. If you don't have the right weapon it can surely be a nearly impossible task. If you don't know how to fight, you'll have a hard time beating them.

Pro tip: Build a large bon-fire and stay close. Half the time they'll run into the fire and be set ablaze!

I know in my experience it isn't about the weapons youre using, I've been playing for a while and I know how to fight them off relatively well. A stone axe and some cloth goes a long way right now. It isn't fighting them off that is a problem. My co op server was having raids of 20+ every night from day one, like I said its just tedious. These huge raids would be more fun if they were rare, but right now it feels like from dusk til dawn there's just some kind of infinite mutant spawner just outside of my proximity.

Protip: DONT make bonfires, it attracts them...

I rarely get visited by cannibals at all...even though I'm very close to a village and patrol route...I'm lucky if i see 30 in a full day & night cycle and mutants are really rare. I never light fires at all tho...sounds like I need to build a bunch.

I got a good weapon from that new guys that throw fireballs, and it's not difficult to kill them with it, they die in 3 hits or less, but the point is the frequency of when they appear, there is a pile of bodies near my tree house of cannibals that come every minute, maybe if they just showed up once in a while or only at night it would be better and more frightening, instead of annoying and tedious.

I see some on average about every 15 mins on every game I've played, more often in high traffic and none in low traffic areas.

If you're playing SP do you have Steam Broadcast enabled? I'd like to come and watch if you have it enabled
I have 1000's of bones from burning corpses. If I could make a bone castle I would.

I believe that, contrary to this thread, there are not enough. Or perhaps a little ore variation? I hope this next update brings some cool stuff.

I'm beginning to learn that there are a lot of little factors that go into how often you are attacked. It never occured to me on my first playthrough that in the beginning of the game, if I just held up my weapon and backed away slowly, there is a good chance the cannibals would not attack me. I also didn't realize that murdering the females in front of the males angers them more towards you. In my next playthrough I am going to try playing more stealthy, not sprint around the cannibals, and try not killing the women and just running away if my base gets attacked. People say you can actually get the normal cannibals to leave you alone entirely and only get attacked by starvers and mutants. I'd really love to see if any of this actually has in impact on how often you are raided.

What I had read in one post is that the hairless ones and mutants will still attack but you can get along and even help from the cannibals that look more human. Good luck!
