Stop mutants knocking down trees
I understand why you would put in the big mutants that can knock trees down but truthfully they are ruining my game. I had plans for how I wanted to build my base. I did not want to deforest the entire area so I only chop down trees with lots of branches. There are lots of them and I get plenty of wood but it still leaves lots of trees standing and the forst becomes easier to see through.

On my base, I specifically left certain trees standing so that after I built a palasade wall I can then build tree platforms with one rope on each side so I can get over my wall without opening any doors.

I've spent about 8 hours yesterday and another 6 hours today building my base and then a mutant shows up and knocks down most of the trees around my base including some of the ones I want for tree platforms.

I wouldn't mind this so much if trees actually grew back eventually. I can rebuild walls but once a tree is gone, that is it. Please get rid of the mutants ability to knock down trees. Either that or make it so that trees will grow back eventually if you do not chop down the stump.

so..a monster is making survival hard in a survival game..gee.... what a shame that survival is requiring adaptation.

I am not saying that I don't expect the game to be hard. What I am saying, if you read my post rather than trying to be a jerk, is that the game has been made in such a way that the trees, once chopped down is permanent. Unlike the walls I build, unlike any other structure I create, once they are gone there is no recovery from it. What I had planned to do with my base is no longer a possibility.

I like that the game is difficult. I just don't like spending hours building up something to have it destroyed in a way that is unrecoverable. That to me is a waste of my time. It is the one thing that very quickly removes my interest from a game. If a game is just going to waste my time then I quickly lose interest and move on to find a game that will not waste my time.

Ironforest. type it at the start it'll make things indestructable.

but the whole idea of a survival game is that no where is safe. no matter how hard you might try to make it so.

with that said it would be nice if trees weren't finite , simply so that people could play for as long as they wanted. but there should always be a threat. and nothing should be invincible

or dont burn the the titan mutant... also when they do a update the trees come back. atleast they did back when i used to play it so they may come back next update. just dont get rid of the stumps. and learn to save =)

A possible simple solution would be to save often so when a precious tree gets knocked down you can revert back to a previous save that still has the tree. Personally I dont find that the mutants knock down trees very often anyway so it likely wont be an issue very often.

only time i see them knocking down anything is when i set them on fire and they just swing randomly at everything.
