Signs and Billboards
I would like the ability to create a sign in the game that you can write on. The reason I want to be able to do this is so that I can leave a sign at the plane wreck to let players joining my game what I will accept and won't accept in my games.

I love this game and would love to play with other players but the amount of times I set a game up, make it public and then get joined by someone without a microphone who wants to either destroy what I have built, attack me or build something that is completely wrong for the type of base I am building. Personally I will not play with people who do not have a microphone and cannot communicate.

I would like to be able to put up a warning sign so they know as soon as they start on my server, that I will shut my game down if they start trouble.

Well you wouldn't for long. I save my game every few minutes so as soon you start messing stuff up you would find that the server would shut down and I would start again from my last save. You want to be a jerk then go play Rust. We don't need jerks in this game.

Back to the original idea though. I think signs would be useful. Not just for leaving info for other players but also for signposting places or directions to places on the island.

i don't think it really suites the idea of being a 'survival' game though .

I disagree. If you are surviving alone then fine. Writing signs to yourself is a bit daft but if you are surviving with others then it is logical to put up signs to help you find places. You already have the marking post you can place but after you put up about a dozen of those your screen constantly has little flag icons all over it. I think signs are a little more realistic then having HUD icons all over the place.

or..ya know you could just be forced to actually 'learn' where things are and remember how to get there. you could also just build effigies as indicators for things.

but making signs is a little silly when your in the middle of a forest surviving for life or death against cannibals.. is a waste of time and energy.

Not once you have an established base, food supply and water source. Building signs as your first priority would be a bit dumb but not once you have established yourself on the island.

Or you could just type in game and coordinate with them that way? I don't see the need for signs to be honest.

would be better to just have a message pop up as they join someones room and they go to the lobby, like when you can invite friends and then we can write what we want which they will see and have to read as it remains during loading.

i think building on this the simplest way would be to simply be able to 'approve' people before they join even if its open to the public.
