No predator animals in peaceful mode?
I thought peaceful mode just turned off the cannibals and mutants, but I have yet to run into any predator type animals. I have yet to see a live shark or the gators/crocs that I've seen in some of the play through videos. I'm wondering if peaceful mode eliminates those as well.

If this is the case, I'd love to have another setting that only applies to the cannibals but leaves predatory animals in to have more of a realistic survival type experience.

Another idea is instead of the three current modes for difficulty level, maybe have sliders to increase/decrease volume of cannibal/mutant, predatory animals in the game.

When I first saw the peaceful setting, I assumed the cannibals would still be in the forest but their faction would be adjusted so they would actually be peaceful tribal communities who would remain peaceful until you did enough to kill your faction with them.

If the predators should still be there or if there is maybe an option I missed to enable them in peaceful mode, let me know! :)

Are you playing in SP or MP? I wonder if that might be the cause and not Peaceful Mode itself.

If you don't mind looking at this map of the peninsula, go here[theforestmap.com] and look if you can find crocs there. It's usually pretty populated with them. There are very few locations where crocs will spawn but being they are salt water crocs they will only appear near the inland salt water.

I can't really guide you to sharks, but I imagine if crocs are there then sharks would be too.

This IMO is how peaceful mode should work. Groups would only fight you if you attack them first and that aggression would not carry on to the other groups. Similar to having permanent red paint. An island completely bare of enemies should be restricted to veganmode and creative mode where such things can be toggled.

Thanks for the suggestion. I may try that although still not really what I was hoping for but could add the challenge back. Need to get gaming computer fixed first. Stupid hardware issues... lol But will definitely give it a try.

Thanks.. I'll take a look at the map you linked and check location with my crappy notebook. Should be ok as long as they don't attack me while looking on it... rofl.

Totally agree about peaceful mode. But in looking at the optional modes, maybe the one where they only attack at night might be similar enough to that. Definitely planning on giving that option a try when I don't have to worry about instant death when I'm attacked.. (ie: gaming rig back up and not just looking on the crappy notebook.... lol)

Thanks for the responses/suggestions... :)

I haven't read yesterday's patch notes.. Either they made the crocs spawn in peaceful mode or it was already doing that and I was just looking in the wrong place. I thought that was where I looked before but maybe not. At any rate, croc almost ate me. So they are there... heheh

Thanks again for the interactive map link. :)
