Official The Forest Discord Server?

I think the devs should make a community discord server. It's completely free to use discord and own servers and never costs anything. It might help bring the community together being able to chat in real time with others that play the forest or even with the devs on occasion. (If the devs have never used discord here are some quick things to note:

• The Ranks (refered to as roles) work on a Hiarchy, so roles with "edit roles" perms can only edit roles below them, and can't edit their own role or roles above them.

• !! IMPORTANT !! Since this is a community server make sure you set the server verification level on high (table flip emoji) to help prevent raids and spam bots (if people keep joining and spamming you can revoke the invite link and make a new one) (this setting only affects new users and just makes it so they can't chat until they meet the following requirements: Verified discord email - Member of discord for more than 5 minutes - Member of server longer than 10 minutes)

• Whoever creates the server has "Ownership" which means they have full, undisputed, irrevokeable access to the server and can't be banned unless their account gets banned from discord itself. (Ownership can be transfer to a different user) Be extremely careful who you give ownership to!

• If needed you can disable notifications from the servers and disallow users from DMing you unless they are on your friends list

• Make sure you set the default server settings so you will only be notified if someone tags you.

• If you need help setting up the server you can search the help database or ask their support team (which imo is one of the best support teams out there) or ask me.

• Be EXTREMELY careful what roles you give the "Administrator" permission because it makes it so they have all perms and bypass channel specific perms. So if you make a hidden channel from everyone people with a role with the admin perm can still see the channel. (Also giving this perm is the quick way to assign all perms to a role without having to check all the boxes, Still follows Hiarchy and is below the person with Ownership)

• Finally, the first channel in the server is the default channel you see when you join the server and CAN NOT be deleted. I recommend making this a rules channel or something so the first thing you see when you join are the rules.)

TL;DR The Forest devs should make a community discord server which could help bring the community together a little more. It's nice being able to chat in real time with others and not have to refresh the page every 2 seconds. Discord can be used in a web browser, their desktop app, and their mobile apps. (All completely free to use)

Think of Team speak, Skype, and slack all combined into one and much more improved and more secure and always updated and the company making it knows what they are doing and have one of the best support teams around.


(Side note: if the devs would like to do this but are too busy working on the game I can set up a server for them with just some basic stuff and they can tell me what they want and I'll get it added for them)

I love this idea! I can help admin the server and do some advanced stuff such as music bots. I've owned and administrated multiple discord servers and know what's fair and what's not.

EDIT:
After looking in more I found 2 The Forest discord servers and I have to say... They're pretty bad. About 100 in each server with more then half of them inactive, one didn't even have rules and they both had no active staff at all. So if you did create a discord server, they're wouldn't be much competition.

I'd join this if they were to make this. And I agree it could brig the community together, I could imagine many people finding people to play with in VC and such.
