Stuck behind a vending machine in the Sahara lab..."clipping?"

Way inside the Sahara labs. Finally find the boy in the artefact. Try to revive him...no luck. Need to press forward. I end up getting stuck between a vending machine and an inoperable door. Tried everything from jumping and suicide in order to re-spawn. No luck. Unable to save progress once in the laboratory coupled with this "clipping" bug is ruining it for me, especially after 90+ hrs of game-play. Any help is appreciated.
