Freezing during co-op
Around 10 minutes (maybe less) after starting a co-op The Forest freezes. I am doing nothing specific during this time (walking). Tested 3 times and it reproduces every time. Co op is lan. I can still hear the game, however, it does not seem to unfreeze I have to close it with taskmanager to close the window.

Specs

1080ti gpu
i7 7700k cpu
32 gb of ram
ran from SSD.

I presume u are on Win10? As this ESENT seems to be a common issue for a minority of people right now the last four or so months, since the new Windows update. I dont have this issue and i do use Win10, but i dont see a definitive answer or fix in my searches of the internet either sorry. It doesnt seem to be a game bug. This seems to crash many games with the same Error present in the Event viewer. So you arent alone!

SSD trim was mentioned, as was Anti-virus and a whole list of things. Again though, i have an SSD also and not the issue. I have one Essent error mentioned in the last 7 days, but i dont think it caused anything i remember specifically, no crashes. So its almost impossible to tell u, if u do the same Searches i have for u. The answers are so WIDE its basically impossible for a one fix all solution if u even can fix it at all right now.

Hi there, are you running with vsync enabled? If not, can you attempt to enable it? As well, can you try forcing DirectX 9? This can be done by adding the '-force-d3d9' launch argument to the game in its Steam properties.

sorry for the slow reply, I just moved across country and also had a birthday lol. It wont be the person joining slowing me down as I bought her a gaming laptop with 16 gigs of ram and a 1080gpu with a cpu the same as mine.

I have tried with and without vsync to no avail, I'll try this command to force DX9 sometime tomorrow as it is very late.

I think i found a potential fix to the freezing during co op. When you host the game then go to the desktop or alt-tab or whatever then go back in the game, it seems to cause the issue to start happening.
The way i can 100% prevent it is by running the game and not coming out of it at all. Then it doesnt freeze for me when im hosting. Maybe even opening the steam chat might cause the issue but i've not tested that.
I dont beleive it hs anything to do with the graphics, im using an RTX 2080 and get the same issue unless i don't come out of the game.

Any solution? Same problema here

I've not played it since, I thought they would have resolved it with the updates since. I wonder if it maybe happens in Window mode and not full screen mode or something.

I wonder if any of the devs read this for bug reports.
