Game won't capture mouse cursor after tabbing back in

After tabbing out, sometimes the game won't re-capture the cursor allowing the mouse to move around off screen and force the game to minimize if you click.

thanks, this is a more simple workaround than i thought i would find. a lot of the time, i have to spend hours on end looking for good answers to simple questions

Feels kind of odd posting on a 5 year old post, but here we are :)
I just experienced this same issue while playing Evil Defenders, also it happened while doing stuff in the steam overlay. I am unable to re-capture the cursor even though I've tried exiting and reloading the game, switching to full screen doesn't even help (normally I play the game windowed, going to full screen doesn't stop the cursor from going to the other monitor...
