Now load the game from the desktop shortcut we made without bothering with Steam. I just tried it to check and it definitely runs and i can load a save in this mode. So if u still cannot load the game then it must be an actual game issue or bug. If it actually does work, then u will have to trace it back from there what application u have that is breaking it and/or Windows issue. Maybe close one application at a time and run the game each time. Did one of them fix it? Let them know if u find something!
Do not forget once u are finished, Window key and R again, type msconfig and now click Normal startup and restart.
AMD also Nastrand? Whats ur specs?
What driver pack are you Nvidia? I have tried drivers 397.31, 397.35, and now on 397.67 still crashing :(
Amd cpu's and unity have been known to not get along with a lot of games, something to do with how Amd's utilize the threads from what i've read here there and everywhere. From posts i've read onthis hub a lot of players with Amd's are having issues whilst many others are not so its a strange one :(
I tried alls steps above and it didn't work for me. I'm also a AMD user, maybe there is an issue for AMD users?
My Homesever: Win Server 2012R2, I3 3220, 16Gb Ram => It lag as hell (ultra low), but it run stable. Testing for 18 minutes.
My Laptop: Win 10, I5 5200U, Geforce 940M, 8Gb Ram => Testing at low prefs. Run stable currently for 30 minutes and is still running.
My Desktop: Win 10, Ryzen 5 1600, 1060 6g, 16Gb Ram => Tested at different prefs. Tested with diagnostic mode (your instructions, Jamesfie). Never over 2 minutes.
So it seems to be clear, that there is a problem with AMD CPUs...
I hope for a hotfix, soon :/
No problem :) I was interested in this, too. The result isn't pretty cool for the amd community, but now it should be clear, that there is a problem in the game.
Haha, I know this problem.. It isn't that funny to play it on my own intel machines... And my Desktop will never see a Intel CPU ;D Hope for a quick Hotfix now.
