The Forest won't load.

Hello everyone,
I came with a very frustrating problem.
Whenever I want to join a server to play further co-op with my friends, the game loads up until it's past the R en beginning to the E. My screens freezes when it loaded up 'The For' and it's stuck there. I didn't had any problems before this.

Stopping at "The For" is normal for everyone. It normally stops for at least 10 seconds, then suddenly speeds across the rest of the word, but never loading past this obviously is an issue. First try the simple file verification. To do this, goto your steam game library, right click The Forest, properties, local files and Verify there. Now?

Does the game completely freeze and u have to crash it? or does it just never load in? If it never loads in, it cannot connect to the host for some reason. Maybe firewall? Something is denying the game talking to your host / friend.

And depending on the file size it can really take awhile; one of my saves takes at least a solid 5 minutes

Some other friends could join the server, and I already did the verification. I'll wait a bit longer then I did. It hasn't crashed yet, maybe I still need to wait.

Can you please send both the host save file, the Client Save, and a description of your issue to [e-mail] ?

To Find Host and Client saves:

Right click the windows icon in the bottom left of your screen, select run and type in %appdata%
This will bring you to the roaming subfolder of appdata, which you can then back out of and follow this file path: appdata/locallow/sks/theforest

You will see a folder inside with a long string of numbers as its name; that folder has all of your saves for multiplayer and singleplayer.

For Host: Follow the aforementioned steps, Open the save slot, and then the 'GUID' file. Send the string of numbers shown in this file to client (This is the name of their client save).

Then Host can just compress the entire Save slot and send it to the aforementioned email address.

For Client, Follow the same initial steps that get you to the appdata/locallow/sks/theforest/7656118.../multiplayer/cs folder, and then look for the name of the save file Host found and sent to you.

Also send this to the same email, and we can take a look at what the issue might be!

Does it ever show a "This application has stopped working" in the task manager or its tab on the bottom of the desktop? If not, then my guess is that the game simply cannot talk to your friend and gets stuck in a loop or just stops talking. Something is blocking it at your end or his.

Try connecting to other coop or dedicated servers. Can you? If you get the same issue, theres your first correlation. Its something your end... if u can connect, then its something with your friend.

Edit: Survivalist beat me by a couple of mins, maybe do that first. :)

My game stops at F does that mean my character is corrupted or, because all other saves work just not that one

My character was corrupted resulting I couldn't join the multiplayer worls or that save in particular, so I guess either your character or savr is corrupted

Needed to make a new character. It became corrupted.
