I didnt realize someone had actually responded back but i've already unstucked myself from under the map and you were asking what cave it was the one at the main cannibal village where you get the map and compass but thanks anyways i just had to kill myself then i was able to pick up my stuff that was under the map.
also nice to know all survival games seem to share this issue. luckily restarting here didn't seem quite as bad or quite the loss I experienced in sub Nautica after spending 8ish hours on a weekend only to "fall through the map" and lose all those hours of work and exploration. haven't played again since.
is there a survival game that auto-saves, even saves to a server to prevent such things from happening?
