Rabbits not breeding

For as long as I can remember the rabbits have never breed inside the rabbit cage. Is this still a bug that never got fixed, or am I doing something wrong?

Same issue. Never tried breeding rabbits because I can easily hunt them with bow and arrow but tested to see for myself and they are not breeding.

i have only managed to get them to breed if there are more than 3 in the pen. Actually the first time they bread there were 3, and after a few days there were 5( 2 born at the same time). but since that time i can only get (1) if there are more than four in the pen, I have 2 pens, niether will reproduce unless there are more than 4, or 5 even. but it takes a week(game time) or longer.

interesting....i've have a pen that has had 4 rabbits in it now for over 2 weeks but still nothing.

its seems to be hit and miss, i have not had any offspring since i last posted, and i have 4 in one pen, and 3 in the other. Sleeping may also be a variable. It's definitely buggy though

They also only breed while the player is sleeping!

I figured that may be a variable, Survivalist. Thanks for the clarification. Woody, I went on an 18 day excursion and came back to my home to the pen where 5 rabbits were, and had 6. I don't recall if I slept much though. I was down in cave 7 and 8 and the crater. I had a feew temp huts for saving so I know i didn't sleep in those, since they get destroyed after you do. I did have small cabin near the entrance of cave 7 on the beach. i may have come out and slept there once or twice.

I have been sleeping almost everynight and am 30+ days past when I posted this. I still have the exact same. I really hope they fix this, it was a great original idea

We don't know that it's a bug. Right now it's a small chance occurrence when the player sleeps. I've see it happen 5 times in 50 days. And they do breed with the two rabbit minimum. That's what I started out with. Sorry about your luck. Your best bet would be to build another cage or two. Put rabbits in those also.
