Discord does not take my mic input while playing

Hello, i wanted to play The Forest with my boyfriend but every time we join a lobby, it doesn´t matter if i am hosting or if it´s his lobby, discord won´t put out sound if i am talking. I can hear him clearly but he can´t hear me at all. Even in discord it shows the "green ring" when i speak...
My discord is using "always on" so no key is pressing the push to talk button


Can somebody help?

Does it work otherwise or is it only when playing the forest or other/all games ?

What mic/headset ?
Tried changing input/output variables and has your bf tried pushing up the slider on your volume by right clicking your name on the call or voice channel ?

It's only when i am playing a game, it was working a while ago but now it's kind of muting me in every game i'm playing. I didn't chance my mic or headset since then and tried to chance the in and output.

It's not that i'm too quiet in the call, he could not hear me at all. The mictest in discord also doesn't show any sound detection at all while im in the game tab. When i'm tabbing out of the game and back to discord everything works fine again.

What mic or headset? Almost seems like you've got a software changing profiles of different variables when you start a game since you can be heard when not in game

Maybe it's related to drivers or some software you're using

Maybe check app/ mic permissions if you are using windows.?

issues like this are usually due to one thing running in admin mode, while the other isn't (from my experience). try running either both in admin mode, or both in non-admin mode.
