Anything to do for fun?
Hello, I started a solo run and settled on fertile lands (in the east next to rivers and hill), I walled my camp and put a platform on it to watch surroundings, I put a fireplace and building a sofa right now. I don't want to follow story. Any ideas to have fun soloing? :steamhappy:

The fun will come to you in time, but you did choose one of the calmer and thus least fun locations imo. Yet eventually the fun will start to some degree. Build lots of birthday traps and rope traps to elevate the experience when the fun arrives :)

Yeah its the calmest region. But you can ignite some flame bij leading them to your base and/or building your base very big. OR just move to a better spot hehe. Game on

A calm place is ideal for a player just starting out. If you want some serious action consider building a base inside one of the cannibals villages. Those are very active locations and you will make them very angry.

I tried playing peacefully living on the edge of peninsula, only 2-8 hostiles are coming there as far as I played through 30 days, before that I played 40 days in the middle of the peninsula near the main camps and had nearly 20 hostiles at least every day on normal level, also you may use artifact to attract hostiles, I promise you that your place you'll have like 10 hostiles at once

I enjoy piling their bodies up before lighting them on fire.

Usually on some nice flat rock.

What!?

Just build your camp in the middle of the patrol routes or at the main village/plane crash sites, you'll have plenty of company.

I'll answer a bit here so that others might find the information if they're looking . Yes it's sad when good games lose traction and the forums for it are not as active.

However, answers will still come, just may take longer.

As for what to do for fun, just try to collect all the items you can. You can get an idea of them in the crafting menu when the game shows you all the things you can make with a certain item. The other things that you don't know about and can't craft, will be in caves, so explore the caves when you're ready. And then the other secret things , you'll have to read up on them or see them in a video game play and realize, there's that thing to get as well.

That's just for the item collecting and exploration aspect. You can actually build very nice and big bases in the game. The base construction aspect is very well done, and like many games with base-building construction, the creativity part is your own ideas of how to build and design stuff.

You can actually get 10s or 100s of hours of fun play going solo. For multiplayer with strangers, you can have more fun when you host the game. You get to control some settings of the game, including to kick or ban players. You can save your multiplayer game and always come back in at a certain point of the game or with certain saved inventory items. This is useful if someone messes up your home base, just reload a previous save where everything was good.

If you join a multiplayer game, just know that you can't control or ban other players, including the ones who are griefing you, and most importantly, any progress you make in your inventory or gathering items, will be lost if you can't rejoin that specific multiplayer game. So if you spent time to get the modern bow, you can have it again if you find that person and rejoin his same multiplayer game. If not, then you're starting from zero again, over and over (unless the host enables some kinds of items)

Thanks, I started to put some traps , but its so lonely here.

I just re-read that you worked on putting some traps here at your base.

The spot you chose is actually a spot that doesn't get too much traffic.

What I would recommend you to do is, on the same map, now go find another spot to build a base on. But to choose the next spot, hang around there at different times of the day and see how you like the action.

I can say there are 2 easy-to-find spots that gives you some base-building designs, with some chance to run if you need to, and action. The geese lake area and the yacht area. You'll have materials to build with to make a base but also experience cannibal attacks.

For the geese lake, you can run to the middle of the lake and be relatively safe for a bit (though that doesn't mean the cannibals leave, so you have to figure out something. There's also a cave there that you can go down if you want to run away that way, and either hang out there for a bit or go out one of the other exits.

For the yacht area, obviously running out to the yacht is a safe way to get away. If you have a boat out there, you can use the boat to get away as well. Or if you just can make it out through one of the paths along the beach, then you can run west or east or even straight into the island, to get away.

I mention the get-away part of the base because depending on what happens, you might find yourself able to handle the attacks or might get overwhelmed. Both of these base areas are good for setting up a base as well as putting up many kinds of traps to add to the fun factor of defending your base since you will get cannibal activity here, but that includes the mutants as well

and if you get overwhelmed or just don't want to deal with it right then and there, they also both offer a quick escape to get away.
