Hey guys, first post on this, but was wondering how long is the day and night cycle on the game? i believe its about 15 minutes each cycle but always have better stuff to do than count how long XD

You might be interested in reading up the existing Q&A with the devs which gives plenty of insight on that one. After reading those you'll see that a value for the current version can be provided by - who would have thought - counting/measuring it on our own too but none of that would surely apply to previous or future versions :)

I haven't read the Q&A but that sounds about right.

Q: How long is the Day/Night cycle?

A: We started off with quite short days but over time as we added more and more things to do during the day, we've been slowly lengthening the days. We find the exact length is a setting we constantly tweak as we get closer to an alpha release and expect it will change a lot during the public alpha.

I'm stuck on an island with not enough sticks to build a temporary shelter, plus I made the goofy mistake to build a door to block one of those crates, cause I didn't want any cannibal coming in while I sleep...

door wouldnt open so here I am, lol

I don't know if anyone still reads this discussion but the night/day times are 36 mins for day and 12 mins for night in 2019

Im reading it! Lol. I started building a cabin near the mine shaft with the rope and ran out of time. So I just climbed down the rope and I’m chilling on it until day comes back lol.

Mostly, night limits your visibility but otherwise it doesn't make things that much harder, as in you don't get extra spawns at night simply because it is night (though they are drawn to fires which are more visible at night so you may still see more of them at night). The exception would be if you tracked down the console codes and enabled vegetarian mode, which is a game mode that only lets the enemies spawn at night. If you don't currently have enemies near you, you can try to sleep through the night instead. Sleeping can have other benefits as well, like if you have tree regrowth enabled, roughly 10% of the intact stumps will regenerate trees when you sleep. The downside is that sleeping comes with a cooldown timer for when you are next able to sleep, so if you sleep later in the night you will also have to wait until later in the night to sleep again the next time. Otherwise you can wait it out and try to go to bed the next night right after night begins.

If you don't mind console commands, there are options available to alter your day/night cycle or experience how you wish. Whether that is extending the day and shortening the night by adjusting the time scale accordingly, or forcing it to become day again. Sometimes it can seem like the night is extra long, but what's really happening is you currently have a storm going which is making everything darker as well. Console commands can also be used to clear the weather if that is the case and you are over dealing with it at this point.

You're wrong! YES there could be more spawns at night time. (PROOF IN SPOILER):

private void setDayConditions() { Scene.MutantSpawnManager.setMutantSpawnAmounts(); if (LocalPlayer.IsInCaves) { this.maxActiveMutants = 20; } else if (Clock.Day == 0 && !Clock.Dark) { this.maxActiveMutants = 15; } else if (Clock.Day == 0 && Clock.Dark) { this.maxActiveMutants = 16; } else if (Clock.Day == 1 && !Clock.Dark) { this.maxActiveMutants = 15; } else if (Clock.Day == 1 && Clock.Dark) { this.maxActiveMutants = 16; } else if (Clock.Day == 2 && !Clock.Dark) { this.maxActiveMutants = 15; } else if (Clock.Day == 2 && Clock.Dark) { this.maxActiveMutants = 16; } else if (Clock.Day == 3 && !Clock.Dark) { this.maxActiveMutants = 15; } else if (Clock.Day == 3 && Clock.Dark) { this.maxActiveMutants = 18; } else if (Clock.Day == 4 && !Clock.Dark) { this.maxActiveMutants = 15; } else if (Clock.Day == 4 && Clock.Dark) { this.maxActiveMutants = 18; } else if (Clock.Day == 5 && !Clock.Dark) { this.maxActiveMutants = 16; } else if (Clock.Day == 5 && Clock.Dark) { this.maxActiveMutants = 18; } else if (Clock.Day >= 10 && !Clock.Dark) { this.maxActiveMutants = 18; } else if (Clock.Day >= 10 && Clock.Dark) { this.maxActiveMutants = 18; } this.currentMaxActiveMutants = ((!Cheats.NoEnemies) ? this.maxActiveMutants : 0); }
