Catching Rabbits from Trap?
In another message in the bugs section, from about a week ago, it was implied you can catch LIVE rabbits from the rabbit trap. Has anyone successfully done this? Before reporting it as a bug, I wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong. You can easily catch them, kill them, and reset the trap -- but I was unable to find a way to capture them live.

Basically what is happening is the trap triggers, and there is a rabbit in the cage. If I press E, it resets the trap and then instantly triggers the trap again, and the rabbit remains in the cage. I have been unable to get any other option to pop up (such as pressing C or anything). I've tried doing it with and without anything equipped in my hand. Is there something I'm missing, or is the trap just not currently working for live rabbits?

you just pick them up then put them in your cages you dont have to kill them. Make sure you pickup the rabbit before you reset the trap.

I guess I'm not seeing the key to pick them up then? The only option I've seen is to press E to reset the trap (with the rabbit still inside). I tried a couple other keys and setups, but nothing seemed to pick them up.

You catch rabbits in the traps alive, then pick them up out of the traps by walking over and looking at the rabbit. You'll see the option "E" comes up to pick up the rabbit, then look up and you'll get the "E" option to reset the trap. Then take them and place them in the rabbit pens you built. When you get up to the pen you'll see the option "C", that's to drop the rabbit into the pens. When you catch a couple rabbits they will start to breed. I've read where the breeding is buggy and doesn't work for some people, and others says it takes a long time for it to happen. I don't know as I always catch a ton and hold the max number in my pens.

Edit: seems like with the new patch it might be broken, since i have set multiple traps and can't seem to get the rabbits out of the cage alive because there's no other option except resetting the cage.

Yeah, that is what is happening to me -- in regards to your edit. Glad I wasn't just doing something wrong. I'll report it as a bug. Thanks.

The only option i get is E to reset the cage. Ive walked around it several times spamming E and same thing. All that happens is the cage resets. No rabbit farm for me :(

when i caught rabbits and shoved them in the cage they would duplicate and pop out a second, even when it wasn't full. also i never set up traps, i would run around and catch them and shove them in.

it's not even a problem, just a glitch, a rabbit would be in the pen but another one would spawn OUTSIDE the pen.

I used to be able to collect rabibits from traps and put them in cage, but now it doesn't work. Can only reset trap

I got the rabbit traps to work and I've placed them in the cage. I currently have 4 rabbits in one cage. The way I did it is cool but seems like a glitch. Ok to get the rabbit out of the trap:

Go to the trap, get close till you see the "rabbit icon" then hit "E" immediately after (I mean like 1/2 a second) hit "C". You'll be holding the fur ball in your hand. Then if you have a cage, highlight the "rabbit" icon on the cage and hit "C". You'll see your new pet.

That's not necessary: just look at the trapped rabbit (a rabbit icon shows up - sometimes) and press 'E' to take the rabbit in your hands. No need to press 'C'.
Then, you take the rabbit to the rabbit cage, and there you press 'C' to put the rabbit in the cage.

By the way: does someone (Bob Kelso) knows the max number of rabbits you can put in a cage?

Nope. I did that. It did not work. I hit "E" on the rabbit icon and I hit "C". Neither one worked. The only success I've had is doing the "E" then quickly pressing "C". I hope this is the actual functionality because it makes sense. You quickly lift the trap with "E" then grab the rabbit with "C". It's pretty cool if that's the intent.

Let's conclude it's still pretty glitchy, and we have to be creative :-)

When you have a rabbit in your trap, which will happend after a while, even tho the traps set of now and then without anything inside.. just have patience and it will be there

But as i was starting out with... Once there IS a rabbit inside, move to the trap and HOLD down the E key and you will pick up a live rabbit to put into your pen..

i have 2 pens with 2 in each pen and i have yet to see them breed... :(

But in time i guess nature will take it's course
