Then go to: C:\Users\(you)\AppData\LocalLow\SKS\TheForest
Save file is: PlayerPrefsFile___RESUME__.dat
Thank you. I thought I had looked all over the local, locallow and even roaming directories but never once did I think to look in SKS this time.
After a scare a couple of days ago when I thought my load file wasn't going to load I realized I needed to start backing it up as I'm on quite an extensive build project this time.
Cheers. :)
Are you using an older version of Windows, prior to 7?
Now that you know the name of the file, perhaps try doing a search in case yours is somewhere else.
NP. I make copies / backups all the time since I get bored after about 9 - 12 days and think I'll reload them at some point. Of course I never do LOL, then an update comes out which makes them useless anyway.
I'll be using around 800 or more logs this game (yup, I'm a masochist apparently) so I would be slightly irked if I lost that before the next patch.
LMAO - Apparently? 800 logs? Well, I guess after a certain point there isn't much else to do, so why not ? ...
Just curious - when you searched, did you use 2 underscores between "file and resume" & "resume & .dat" when looking for "PlayerPrefsFile___RESUME__.dat"?
If you played before the last update and tried to load that file, that's why you started back in the plane as it won't reload an old file.
-so you can not load a save file that was created in a previous version ?
BTW, you don't need the ">" in DOS, just "cd games" to change directory. I know, it's been a while LOL!
