How do you catch a Rabbit?

I've made the Rabbit Cage but don't understand how to get a rabbit inside it.

Find a spot where you see some rabbits running around (more than 2). Figure out a central spot then build a trap. Sometimes they get caught after a few minutes or after a couple of game days. If about 3 or 4 game days go by and no rabbits find another spot where you see a few running around and try again. In a good spot you can fill your cage pretty quick.

Patrick, you can also hunt them using the Weak Spear, which can also be used to catch fish. You can use the weak spear while running, so it's easy to catch rabbits. They're found near some ponds.

Don't know if this is actually true, but I notice my rabbit traps have become less useful the more i destroy the forest around them. Don't know if thats actual causation or more just association on my part.
