Sorry, no you can't. Way back, one could delete partially built stuff by pushing "C", but that no longer works either.
Being a new player, you have found out that "basic" walls aren't so good atm. At least they fixed the ability to recoup your logs. Build window walls or use experimental walls. they won't "explode" from accidental axe swings. The Dev's will fix this eventually, but in the mean time...
The only thing basic walls are good for is that they are the only walls that one can use to snap / place ceiling sections off of - which again, use only window walls. After placing ceilings (if you choose too), replace the basic wall blueprints with window or door walls.
Same will happen with defensive walls I believe - can't remember as I no longer use them.
EDIT: Another building tip: After placing your blueprints, save. Then build door sections first to check that doors swing in both directions. If not, reload and move door wall. This doesn't seem to be an issue with experimental walls though.
What? Uh, I don't think so...
LOL! Really? Been a long time since I've even built one of those. Dev's getting ready to burn everything up, eh? Will we get craftable fire trucks?
You'll notice when you're meeting a Mutant, trust me :)
