Aiming Dot
When using the Molotov Cocktail, I find that I'm missing my throws quite a bit, even at fairly close distances. Is there a way you can have just a simple aiming dot on the screen (maybe that we can turn on/off in the options)? That way those of us who want it to be a little easier can have the dot. Though I haven't grabbed the flare gun yet, I'd imagine the dot would come in handy there as well.

Well, there is red dot in rl either. So...I doubt this will be ever a thing in the forest :)

I know that from rust, just play bit - you will get used to it.

i'd have to agree, but also i do understand the need for a targeting reticule for most players. i like the idea of turning one on and off if needed.

I don't think they should add a Dot because it would ruin the survival aspect of the game. Because when you are using a bow for example, you have to guess where to aim which makes it better. Also this game is supposed to be hard to survive (Which it isn't yet) and adding a dot would make it easy. Just saying

I would have to agree with you. Right now, this game is too easy, and adding in a dot would make it easier. But, I do think maybe they should look at making some difficulty levels in this, and for like the "beginner", have the assistance of a dot.

Or instead of difficulty levels, make it so you have the dot for the first 7 days on the island, then have it fade away. That was something that was talked about with MW:O when 3rd person was talked about being put in the game. I believe 7 days on the island would be more than enough time to learn how to shoot and aim.

Me, I could do without it, but I am thinking of those that may need it at first.

I find playing the game without cannibals (veganmode) does allow newbies to get used to the game mechanics, experiment with using items like molotovs, etc. I find myself using it to explore the island and figure out some strategy.

i think the only argument that can be made against having an aid like that would be for the sake of immersion. but, if it could be enabled/disabled at a hosts disgression it shouldn't matter. besides if the devs don't code one in and enough people talk about wanting one... a modder will make one.

a dot would be easy to program and easy to toggle if wished. i dont see a reason devs shouldnt include it.
That or I put a tiny dot sticker on my monitor :)

Not necessarily, I've shot a bow even guns, and I'm pretty good at it in real life, and aiming in real life is way easier than it is in this game. Cuz you can bring it up to your eye level in real life and adjust from there, you can't in this game really so an aiming dot would be better. That, or better aiming mechanics for the weapons themselves.
