Trees, and the way that they fall

I'm actually only bugged with 1 thing in this game so far, and that's how the trees fall, apparently random. I tried chopping down 3 trees in the same fashion and they all fell differently. Annoying. I'd love it if you make it possible to determine the direction the trees fall.

To fell a tree IRL (done it several times, axe and chainsaw) you first plan(t) a NOTCH on the "fall side" of the tree. So IMHO it makes sense if the tree falls in the same direction as the FIRST Axe Chop marks the tree.

You can by moving into the tree (once cut) the way you want it to fall. Doesn't work all the time, but 95% at least.

This is probably not the answer that you are looking for but in the mean time I found out that if you push on the tree really harde after the last chop, the tree will fall towards you. So if I want the tree to fall towards your cabin or wall that you are building then have your back to the cabin while you chop. Again, not realistic but you can direct how trees fall that way.

yea there is a trick to it, make sure you start chopping in the direction you want it to fall as well as end chopping in the desired fall direction

then when it starts falling, jump up the trunk of the tree to push it more in the direction you want.

try it out a few times, its actually kinda fun lol
