Resolutions

On the Unity configuration window, I can select from 640x400; 720x480; 1280x720, 768 & 800. my monitor resolution is 1280x1024, but since The Forest runs very slow on my computer (Unity games generally do) I'd be happy to run it at 1024x768. Is anyone else having issues of this kind, is it being worked on? (My graphics card is a Radeon HD 7450 which can run current games at 1024x768, 1152x864 and even my monitor resolution just fine (Borderlands 2, Defiance and similar games all run well with some reduced settings))

Your computer seems a bit weak to play this game in any decent fps :(

I'm going to blame the programming, since I like I said, current high-profile titles run well enough. And this game is laggy on the lowest resolution where one can barely make out details. Shame this is a Unity game, the idea is great and it would work much better already if it was on a good engine. I'm hoping that at least I'll be able to choose 800x600 or something so I can play it properly.

What the hell are you talking about. Unity is a great engine. You should go on google and type Unity made games list and look at it. A lot of games known and they all run smoothly. Unity is not the problem here.

I freaking hate when people think that Unity is the problem in most of the games that doesnt run well. It's how you use it. The game is as good as their developpers.

the max resolution of my monitor is 1024x768, so I have to play this game at a lower resolution. all available resolutions I tried make the graphics pretty bad and the notebook/guidebook/craftbook in the game unreadable, no matter what other graphics settings I adjust. I wonder if they made this to play at 1024x768, if that would fix my problem.

to date it looks like 1024x768 has not been included as yet by the devs, possibly they think no one these day's uses it, I think they will include more resolutions later in the developement, I played this on my tv and it used 1366x768, my monitor used 1680x1050 they both played well, now I have a new monitor with native resolution 1920x1080, so you may consider an upgrade in monitor which will help you, and also check what your graphics card is capable of as well..good luck

Thanks Prometheus. I had a crt monitor that could run high resolutions but it quit working. I resorted to getting this monitor for free. Though it maxes out at 1024x768, it suits me just fine for everything else I do on my computer. Even more, I think I can run at 1024x768 on all the other games in my steam library. I don't think it's worth buying a new monitor just for this game. I hope you understand that I don't have a problem with your suggestion.
Considering the capabilities of my graphics card was a good idea. I know that my gpu is not the problem because I was able to run at higher resolutions with my previous monitor.
