armsy behavior?
i played a lot of hours before the patch and build close to the beach at the huge grass area between the anchor and the boat. never saw one armsy even tho i absolutely killed every single mutant that came by and they didnt get more angrier and brought armsy with them.
now i'm building at a different spot, near a lake at the edge of the forest. i havent killed more than 2 natives until i spotted my first armsy. luckily it glitched into my wall so it was easy to kill. the night after i saw another armsy come by followed by the natives. it only wandered around through the forest doing nothing.

what i'm wondering here is, why did i get 2 armsys already after only 3 days survived? and why did i never get them before even tho i played for much longer and never spotted one.

and how long does it take for an armsy to destroy everything? im a bit worried about that since i put a lot of effort into my fortress and floating treehouse. floating as in the tree is gone. lol

any help is much appreciated :)

It's called Alpha. The AI for the cannibals, Armsy and SpiderVag is continually being updated, so their behavior has and will change. 4 or so updates ago, I led (because he didn't / doesn't really attack yet) Armsy to a small base I had - a treehouse with a 2x2 structure underneath. I used defensive walls and he blew it out in seconds.

Relying on your current base to withstand changing conditions prolly won't work. that's why one needs to have multiple, back up bases or thought of every possible contingency... which prolly won't happen either. :) All part of the fun bro...and why I stopped making mega-bases.

If you look into the latest patch notes you can see a new armsy AI update. However, I think something this game needs to work on is difficulty progression. I like the idea of "if you pick the wrong spot to stay you die" but I've been attacked by 15 mutants on my fourth night and I'm not too happy about that (near the anchor). It's not a problem I guess but still, I would like to see at least SOME diffuculty progression. I mean I know that in real life these mutants would probably come in force the first time they find out where you are and not send 1 guy then 2 guys then 3 guys like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tower defence game (lol) but still.
