Where are the fishes

Ok, so ive seen about 3 to 4 ponds now, all eith no fish in them.
I made a game in between 18b and c, could it be that i need to make a new game, or is this a bug?

Theres are school of fish in the sea some way between the containers and anchor, next to that bit of headland.
And there is one pool with fish, but you can't reach them with the spear, although you can get under the water and stand to spear them. Unfortunately don't know where the pool is exactly, its pretty well hidden, and no landmarks near to really guide you there. Though better if there were fish elsewhere anyway.

I checked other pools and there were no fish where there used to be, as I always set up camp by or near pools.

I think there are several pools with fish in it, but it's really hard to see, since the water is sometimes very dark.

What I do to find out if there are fish: go stand in the middle of the pool and open your inventory. If there are fish in it you can see them clearly swimming through your inventory :-)

I'm not kidding. It happened several times that I stood in a pool and thought that there were no fish, and when opening my inventory I saw them by the dozens swimming around.

The pond near the anchor has fish in it. Also, straight into the forest from that pond, a little to the left, there is another pond with fish in it :)

Many ponds do seem to be missing fish tho :P

It is randowm. A pond you goto that is empty may have fish in it the next time you reload.

There are no fish in ponds. They're only in the sea. For now anyway. There's the ones mentioned already plus the ones past the anchor on the other side of the cliff where one of the rebreathers are.

There are no fish on the new part of the island. I think they forgot to add them in.

I once had a nice site just inland from the anchor to the first pond. Then the fort was destroyed and I went to site #2 and was overrun the first night. Same with site #3. Now I check all ponds automatically when I'm running; not just scouting! I'm still using an update from 17, but plan to go with a new game tomorrow. I've always found fish in the ocean in two places: Off dead shark beach where the yacht is located now. Go out to the big rock and look for shallow water just to the right.

Best place, though, is around the cliff and up to the black rocks. Shallow water there with eager fish.
