Strange scream/sound

Just been hanging aroud my camp at those huts along the coast that are rasied when I heard this odd sound best I could describe as an alien bird :p. Sounded close,and like it echoed. First time I've heard this, couldn't see a topic already. Anyone heard it?

Killed two cannibals prior, one just setting up a effigy at night.

Edit: After unpausing the game, heard it again, bit different, but from the same thing. :O

There is defnelty something coming, sounds like its from the mountain.

Mutants make screeching noises at night. You'll hear them everywhere.

This sounds quite different though. Maybe it could be, though it just seems different, and have not heard it for quite a few days ingame until now. It seems to occur at day now too. The big mutants not showed up for awhile either, regularly battled them wherever I went. I'll get a video.

I thjink the noise you are talking about is the new noise the female cannibals make. I love it. The sound has been greatly improved.

It might be. It sounds female, I just don't seem to hear it after reloading after a save for some time, could be glitched audio I guess, seemed like it linked to the way enemies are reset. I only started hearing it when going up the mountain after some days, was very eerie, like something on the mountain.

So it seems it is. Its just really weird and unexpected. Females only seem to show up a bit later for me and do that screaming. Im just up on the mountain and ran over to one and it got down on its knees. Can walk right up to it and it does nothing till I smashed them in the face with a rock.

No its gotta be something else, ive heard it only at night near the mountains. The sound doesnt occur on the mainland, so it couldnt just be a female, its something else.

I think i know what are you talking about,that sound it might be a baby cannibal you can kill them they run really fast they don't attack you put they attract cannibals to you.

I hear this sound as well regularly, cause my base is near the mountains and I can tell you that it's actually a background sound that has nothing to do with mutants cause you can hear it on veganmode as well. It's just something devs added to make it more scary I guess.

If thats what it is, then it's working, it makes it difficult to focus on whatever im doing when the sound plays.

There is definitely a lot of things that the cannibals can say, but I was in my camp (near the river, northern area) and I heard three horrifying screeches. Instinctively, I hid and a few minutes later 5 pale cannibals attacked. so if it's three womanlike screeches, it probably means an attack is incoming and you should hunker down and get ready for anything.

I heard this screeching noise right next to my base no idea what did it but im gonna assume its the cannibals however my base is no where near the mountains which means this happens anywhere in the game scared the ever loving ♥♥♥♥ out of me. probably the first i heard this happen cause this was the only time i had my headphones on.
