Attempting to play in VR

Hello-
I am attempting to play the game in VR. I'm using peaceful mode.

The plane has crashed, and I get up. Somehow I ended up with a red axe in my hand, I guess I got it from the dead flight attendant.

I can see the book and it seems pretty easy to use.

(I'm playing in a seated position - is this a good way to play?)

I want to craft something. I step off the airplane.

I need some sticks, can I get some advice on how to get sticks?......

(Not sure how to pick things up off the ground.)

I see a lot of suitcases strewn about, but how do you open them?.........

Sticks from those skinny mini trees, slash them with something like the axe or thrust with a spear

You need to hit the suitcases to open them

Thanks - I think, that since I am playing in a seated position, I find it hard to reach down and grab things or hit things. I guess I should try playing standing!
