Sure it will get ironed out soon.
Cannibals will typically avoid going into water, unless they are pursuing, or fleeing. When doing so, all cannibals (including the mutants, armsy, virginia, and cowman) can walk on the ocean/lake floor.
Whther it was due to the pursue or if they spawned there, I'll definitely set up some defenses. I don't know if I'll be able to transport logs with the raft, but if not, then I'll just make a ring of fire with torches, fireplaces, and effigies.
Let's hope it gets fixed soon.
You can build log holders on rafts. In fact, you can build a ton of things on rafts. You should be able to fit 4 log holders on it if you position them just right.
