Trying To Find North Entrance To Cave 1

I heard there is a katana at one of the entrances to Cave 1, but I can't find it, and my compass is not helping. Anyone know where it is, and any nearby landmarks one could use to locate it?

Go to the beach where the ship anchor is....run directly ENE from there till you get to a large lake that has 3 cannibal huts on the other side of it. Run into that small village, now with the lake behind your back run straight East into woods....you will come to a large cliff that goes up and there will be an entrance to a cave there (this is not the one you need), but from there head NNW and follow the mountain around the base (long run, maybe about 15 seconds worth)....this will lead you to the cave entrance with the katana stuck in the guy outside it.

The area around the entrance is heavily wooded so it can be easily missed. There are also about 5 other dead passengers in various poses, nailed to trees, etc....from the cannibals, that are outside the entrance along with the katana guy.

Took a little time, but I managed to find the area in the last picture. I can't seem to find the katana though. I'm assuming the guy in the picture is the katana guy? There's nothing to pick up so I'm not sure, I tried picking up the sheath looking thing at his knees but it wont work

Oh nevermind, I accidentally picked it up already and just didn't see it in my inventory. Thanks so much for the help!

i have no luck to find the katana, even I built a base in front of the cave entrance....

The katana has been moved inside the cave now. Search the forum if you want to know the exact spot.
