Can't find any turtles in the beach

I couldn't find any living thing living amongst the islands around the beach area save for some birds. I'm having trouble crafting my water collectors and it seems odd that this beach does not house any turtles of any sort.

I've visited most of the islands and haven't seen any source of food, water or shelter. You'll have to bring logs, then food and water. I build the simple leaf tent for z and c; then brought enough logs and a turtle shell. Then I build storage shelves for soda and snacks and a drying rack for food. Took more time bringing logs for the storage shelves than anything else. Also built a rest bench first! Gardens don't seem to produce much of anything!!! Maybe later.

But every time I leave the island I leave everything behind that I can replace when I reach the shore. When I return I always try to be fully loaded so I can stock up. So far so mutants have shown up on the island. I'm building low and strong among the huge rocks.

I've spent time in the caves, and I really, really, REALLY hate the caves. But, it's just about time to go looking seriously for Timmy. When the situation arises I have a well stocked site that seems pretty safe; and I've outrun mutants once and those speedy slinky things a couple of times to the raft and then safely to the island.

i had the same problem as you, just travel to another beach, they seem to only spawn at a certain one. if you see a crashed sail boat then you'll know your at the right beach, at least thats where i finally found them.

Big spawn point of sea turtles is right in front of the containers on the beach. When there look at the sea turn left and a bit further where there's some luggage next to a raft is also a good place to find sea turtles. Then there are some land turtles that can be found near ponds or the 'river' where the cockpit can be found.

I've seen them in those locations and up past the anchor the other side of the cliffs that go out into the water. They're still around just not as common as they wrere.
