The other creepiest part I found, and love in the game is the AI behavior. I usualy tend to spend my nights on the boat while still building a base. Many times I have seen cannibals walk to the edge of my camp and start building something. Once morning rolls around I get off the boat and start seeing what they did. My personal favorite was 2 sticks in the ground with a string between them. On this string was an array of body parts, one of which looked axactly like a big ole, well take a wild guess of the parts on the male body.
This. Walking around with that lighter in the caves and then turning around and seeing a red mutant will freak you out hard.
It was just super freaky and chilling because you got the vibe that you were a toy to them and they will cut you down when they want to. Idk. Anyone have similar experiences? But yeah, no, the game is terrifying at points. Safety is a word you'll forget quickly because it doesn't apply here.
