How Do Gardens Work?

I've noticed Gardens are in the Survival Guide build menu, but I don't know how they work or what they're or what they're used for. Do they Work? Or is it something implemented into the game but not Finished?

So far in my limited experience, you seed it, the plants grow and you harvest the plants. But they only increase your health atm, not feed you.

I've actually had gardens grow the edible berries as well which is very nice, but getting the plants that heal you seems to be way more common. I've also had it where you cannot seed the gardens at all and they don't do anything.

Another Question, how to you get/find seeds?

I saw that one way to grow in gardens is to pick these small orange flowers that give you the leaf icon when picking them. It should then allow you to plant, as far as I know.

In my garden grow the plants that I found in the Forest. Mostly the plants for health.
But I think in the later Versions of the Game, there can grow Berrys

That's a glitch, you sometimes see an icon telling you to press E and you sometimes don't get anything.
